Handcrafted in San Antonio, Texas, our products—face oils, bar soaps, lotions, bath bombs, and more—are made without synthetics, petroleum derivatives, or harsh preservatives. But clean beauty isn’t just about what’s left out. It’s also about how ingredients are made.

The Hidden Fossil Fuel Problem in Skincare

Even many “natural” brands rely on fossil fuels behind the scenes. Petrochemical solvents, preservatives, and surfactants are widely used in ingredient processing—even for products labeled as plant-based.

Here’s how it works:

Detergent molecules and emulsifiers are often processed with ethylene oxide, made by steam-cracking naphtha, a crude oil derivative.
“Natural” extracts may be pulled using hexane, a petroleum-based solvent.
Many preservatives and texture agents are synthesized from fossil fuel precursors.

So even if petroleum isn’t listed on the label, it’s often embedded in the process.
